IMF54303 Focused Young Adult Literature--Nicole McInnes

WIN QTR 17--ONLINE Focused Young Adult Literature

Instructor: Nicole McInnes

Class Type: Fiction: Literature

Course Description:
In this course, we will focus on reading, analyzing and discussing contemporary/realistic young adult novels (some with crossover appeal to middle-grade and adult readers, due to the age and experiences of the protagonists). These four novels by award-winning authors encompass themes including family issues, racial identity, sexual identity, and geographical and historical context. In the last part of the course, our focus will shift to YA Science Fiction and Fantasy via a collection of stories on the cutting edge of these two popular categories.
